Happy New Year!

This year we celebrated Chinese New Year, for the first time- We went with friends for dim sum in our international district, and then watched the CNY festivities in the streets. The next day we went to a wonderful gathering for families with children from China- Emma was transfixed by the performances of Chinese dances, and has been imitating them in our living room since.

Emma did eventually recover from her Christmas illness... we were never really sure what she had, but it was a doozy. Our Christmas was very quiet. I included a few pre-Christmas things here too.

Emma's favorite things these days are Barbies, Polly Pockets, understanding how the human body works, ocean animals, elephants/mammoths/mastodons. Dance performances in the living room (fully dressed in layers of dressup clothes) after dinner. Team jerseys (she is in a little sports class and often wears hers to bed). And not a day goes by that I don't stop and wonder how I got so blessed to have this wonderful girl in my life..

Hi Lisa,
Lovely pictures of your CNY celebrations and glad that Emma was well from all that yucky stuff.
Just read you comment about Abbey's song/dance and Emma's take off and had to tell you what I didn't put on the blog. She took off her shirt and said she wanted the whole world to see her "ding dongs". I asked why an she said it was a special day and she just wanted everyone to see them...oh dear.
